Pacific Community Ventures Responds To National Call To Service
June 22, 2009 Penelope Douglas, Pacific Community Ventures’ Co-founder and President, will speak on a panel entitled Social Entrepreneurship: Business Leaders as Social Leaders at The National Conference on Volunteering and Service in San Francisco on June 24, 2009. This four day conference is the world's largest gathering of volunteer and service leaders from the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors.
Recently, President Obama called on all Americans to help in our nation's recovery by volunteering in their communities this summer. The President's call to service launches a sustained effort to expand the size and impact of volunteer efforts in addressing tough challenges facing the nation. Pacific Community Ventures has a powerful statewide network of volunteer Business Advisors who help grow companies and create good jobs in underserved communities. Their support is critical in helping Pacific Community Ventures carry out its mission.
