Community Impact Report: Neighborhood National Bank

Measuring impact is becoming increasingly important for Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) in order to evaluate performance and to provide current and potential investors, customers, and other key stakeholders with vital information about their role in community and economic development. In 2011, InSight was commissioned by Neighborhood National Bank (NNB), a nationally recognized CDFI bank, to measure NNB’s impact in the San Diego region from 2006 to 2010. This report highlights NNB’s impact over the five year period by analyzing data such as the number of jobs supported through loan activities and the percentage of loans to underserved communities including areas with high poverty and high unemployment. The Community Impact Report illustrates NNB’s leadership and distinctive role in the San Diego region as a depositor and provider of capital to businesses and individuals in underserved areas that are overlooked by traditional banks.
