  • Alcenia’s was birthed through a need for healing after tragedy hit in 1997. My only son Will A. (Go-Go) Tamayo, III was killed in a motorcycle accident. My whole world changed and I could no longer function. I always wanted to manufacture my mother’s preserves, so I took that dream and opened Alcenia’s. Even though I never cooked growing up, my childhood memories and my mother’s recipes were two things that always brought feelings of love and peace, and I wanted to share those with the world. Alcenia’s Restaurant was named after my phenomenal Mama Alcenia. My Mama left me with an amazing gift, her legacy. The 24 years of business for the restaurant have brought many customers through our doors. These customers arrive as strangers, but leave as members of the Alcenia’s Family. It is our desire to feed the head, the heart, and the stomach. Alcenia’s has been the featured guest on many TV and news programs. The articles and book spotlights are countless. Alcenia’s has become world famous for its love and food.
