Success Stories

Seven Stills Distillery

Seven Stills recently secured a new location that will allow them to open their taproom to the public and hire a brewer, distiller, and taproom manager.

Launch Site

Seven Stills began as a bootstrapped business in a parent’s garage, making whiskeys from craft beers. Last year, founders Tim and Clinton made Zagat’s 30-Under-30 list of “Rock Stars Redefining the Industry” and Seven Stills’ Chocasmoke Whiskey won the 2014 Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. But because Seven Stills was considered a newbie small business, securing capital though a traditional lender wasn’t an option. That’s when they turned to our CDFI, Pacific Community Ventures, for a loan to purchase a new still. Thanks to that new growth, Seven Stills recently secured a new location that will allow them to open their taproom to the public and hire a brewer, distiller, and taproom manager.
