Danny Spitzberg

Danny Spitzberg is PCV’s Good Jobs Innovation Lab Senior Research Analyst, bringing over ten years of experience in applied sociology, worker-led research, and cooperative development. He supports PCV’s mission by performing applied research to inform lending and business advising product development, and to surface insights from PCV’s portfolio and external data resources. Before joining PCV, Danny worked at UC Berkeley on a state-funded study about how worker ownership can improve job quality and firm performance in historically low-wage sectors. Previously, Danny facilitated worker-led economic development studies with Turning Basin Labs. He also co-founded The Workers’ Algorithm Observatory at Princeton University, a clinic that helps labor and community groups audit black-box algorithms and AI systems that affect their work and wellbeing. Danny has made his home in Oakland and San Francisco for most of his life.
