As a young girl, my best summers were spent visiting my grandmother in Bavaria. I looked forward to sitting in Oma’s kitchen eating slice after slice of Nutella smeared on crusty bread.
Many years later this girl is a mom and I want to share this childhood joy with my kids. I’m dismayed reading the Nutella label- it has tons of sugar, almost no protein and is full of palm oil. I knew I could do better! (No offense, Oma). The challenge was to make a better-for-you Nutella that kids really enjoyed eating.
I’m always making healthy food with fresh and wholesome ingredients for my family. I especially like making snacks with sunflower seeds because they’re a complete protein, filled with antioxidants, and rich in healthy fats. Seeds are the future!
