Shawn Michelle’s Home Made Ice Cream

“My advisor is just what I’m looking for. He’s sharp and I love his ability to think outside of the box.”

Yahya Muhammad is the owner of Shawn Michelle’s Old Fashioned Homemade Ice Cream in Chicago, IL. Serving hand-scooped artisanal ice cream, his business aims to bring tradition and togetherness back to one of America’s favorite desserts.

“We have some of the old-school flavors,” said Muhammad, owner of Shawn Michelle’s Homemade Ice Cream in Chicago. “But we bring modern appeal. We have butter pecan of course, but it’s a bourbon butter pecan. We have vanilla, but it’s a brown sugar vanilla cream. We have black cherry, but it’s black cherry with chocolate brownies.”

Yahya came to Pacific Community Ventures three months ago through our partnership with ICIC. He needed help budgeting and forecasting against a five-year goal that would see the business scale nationally. We matched him with Aman Shah, the Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences at  Board of Innovation Americas. Aman has supported Yahya with his financial model and executive summary, as well as helping him to identify the business’ ideal client profile for expanding its base. Yahya told us: “My advisor is just what I’m looking for. He’s sharp and I love his ability to think outside of the box.”
