Anna Margarita Canero

Development Manager & Chief of Staff

As Development Manager & Chief of Staff of Pacific Community Ventures, Anna works across teams to communicate PCV’s mission and work to a wide network of supporters and funders. She also supports in tracking PCV’s operational and impact goals as Chief of Staff to the CEO.

Before joining PCV, Anna was with University Neighborhood Housing Program (UNHP) where she structured and evaluated programs aimed at advancing housing security, economic opportunity, and financial stability for Bronx residents. In 2020, Anna worked as a summer associate at the Global Impact Investing Network (The GIIN).  As part of The GIIN’s Impact Measurement and Management team, Anna worked alongside the International Labour Organization (ILO) and 40+ other impact investing stakeholders on foundational research, analysis, and metrics development for several IRIS+ impact themes. Anna also has experience evaluating social enterprises in the Philippines as a graduate fellow and evaluating education programs in Guinea as a Peace Corps volunteer. Prior to working in the nonprofit sector, Anna operated store businesses as a general manager with UNIQLO USA–overseeing 3 different stores, opening the Southern California market, and working on talent acquisition and employee development for the company.

Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA as well as master’s degrees in International Political Economy and Development (IPED) and Economics (M.A.) from Fordham University. In her free time, Anna likes to sing karaoke, play the guitar, and play classic video games.
