2014 Was The Best Year For Small Business Job Creation Since 1999

The monthly jobs report just came out, and to no one’s surprise (at least here at PCV) small businesses fueled job growth in November. According to ADP, nonfarm private small business payrolls rose 101,000 in November! This has continued a trend we’ve been seeing all year, with payrolls rebounding and the economy — especially small businesses — adding more jobs as the year has gone on. While there’s still a ways to go (the unemployment rate stayed at 5.8%, and average wages haven’t grown much) there’s a lot of reasons to be optimistic heading into 2015. The Washington Post reports that small businesses have sustained their rapid job growth even as national employment growth slows. At PCV, we’re more driven than ever to do our part in keeping that trend going.
